Irish Outsider Art Exhibition "Beyond" in Cork City

 Beyond- Irish Outsider Art

A Group Exhibition Curated by Brent Pope

The Atrium, City Hall, Cork
 17th November- 4th Decmber 2015

After spending three weeks in Dublin, The Irish Outsider Art Exhibition, Beyond has travelled to Cork City.
Come and view the work of three of GASP's artists Rosaleen Moore, David Connolly and Yvonne Condon along with 15 other artists from around Ireland.
The opening of the exhibition is Tuesday 17th of November 2015.
Beyond is an exhibition of Outsider art, a term coined to describe art made by people with no formal training, whose work is created outside the influence of mainstream establishments such as art schools and galleries. Brent Pope of RTE has a passion for Outsider art and the talented people who create it, many of whom can be living on the margins of society and may have experienced social disadvantage or exclusion. Pope was prompted to go in search of Ireland’s hidden Outsider artists and with the help of Catherine Marshall, art historian and former curator at IMMA and Beyond showcases Irish Outsider art and artists.
A documentary about the making of this exhibition can be caught on the RTE Player or a DVD can be supplied on request: www.rte.ieFurther information:
